It is estimated that 5 – 10 % of the population are currently suffering from depression. It may not seem like a large percentage but it still means there are thousands of people out there all suffering from same thing. Depression is very different from just having a down day, everyone has those days when they don’t want to get up in the morning, or just feel they’ve had a horrible day or two. Depression isn’t like those days, depression takes over your life. When these down days turn into continuos weeks and the feelings and emotions you are experiencing start to effect your everyday life it may be time to seek help.

Living with depression is hard work. It can effect every aspect of your life, your eating habits, sleep patterns, your attitude to work may change, and you may loose your self worth. Those suffering from depression can’t just snap out of it, as much as they try to be positive they just can’t. This doesn’t mean they are weak or unwilling they are just suffering from a very common psychological disorder.

Don’t let the word ‘disorder’ scare you. Admitting you are depressed doesn’t mean you are going to be whisked away by men in white coats, put in a straight jacket and left in a padded cell. Admitting you have a problem is half the battle. But as was said earlier you are not alone, there are thousands of people that are feeling the same as you. It is important that you get help, no one is going to judge you, or accuse you of being unable to cope.

Some people that are suffering from depression don’t want to have traditional forms of treatment such as counselling or anti-depressants. Many people are now turning to hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy can be a very effective way to deal with depression. It can be used as an individual treatment or can be used along with the more traditional forms of treatment, it is all a case of personal preference. If you feel uncomfortable taking pills, or for any reason you are unable to take them hypnotherapy may hep you. Or if you don’t really feel ready to talk in depth about your problems hypnotherapy may be the way forward.

Hypnotherapists can help you overcome you depression by finding the root cause of your depression. This technique is called hypnoalaysis. Hypnoanalysis is a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis. Once the hypnotherapist has helped you to uncover the root cause of your depression and helps you deal with this issue. The root cause then becomes powerless and you are able to overcome depression. This form of hypnotherapy can be life changing for many, it is also a natural and safe way to treat depression so there are no harmful side effects.

With no official laws and controls on Hypnotherapy in the UK it is hard to find a hypnotherapist which is the real deal. Hypnotherapy Directory

I have been suffering from depession for 10 years. Somedays are worse then other. But lately I have had very few good days. My husband has been unfaithful throughout our 14 years together. I have 4 children with him. I had a hard child hood. Both my parents are alcholics. My mother almost die from it. And I lost the only person who really knew me and loved me almost 10 years ago, my little brother. I don’t want to kill or hurt myself but sometimes I just wish I was dead. Thing would easier for me if I were. But then who would care for my babies. No one understands me. sometimes it is difficult to explain with telling them ev erything. I have some much I can tell. And it’s eating me away. I just. Need someone who will listen and not judge me.

This was so good to read. I dont think there is enough information out there for people who dont have depression. That don’t really understand the difference between feeling down and having a mental illness. I suffer from night terrors quite badly as well and I think people assume these are the same as a bad dream . . . they are not! Have a quick read of my blog as I keep my illness a secret its hard but I have manged to do it. Lots of people dont even know there is anything wrong with me. bliss or hell? I dont know? xx
