My Own Destiny - A poem about regret and reflection

Posted in Poetry by Amanda at 02:23 on 1st June 2008

I believe this poem to be about asking for forgiveness from someone, this person maybe meant more than they had originally realised.

To me, you were forever my strength and sorrow,

but I took for granted there would always be tomorrow

Standing in the face of darkness when I walked away,

hoping one day you may forgive me for what I was to say

I love you now, as I loved you then

With every breath I would do it again,

Forget me not for the pain I’ve caused

For each moment lost was forever yours

Looking to the past, remembering the day that was our last,

could my future hold the key to your door “My Destiny”

Or do you hate?
