Saying Goodbye – A poem about living on05.24.08

Death is never the end, but if you live in the past you will surely suffer and tarnish the loss you have felt within.

People live on inside us for as long as we allow them to do so, we all need to hang on to those we miss.

I need to say goodbye although your with me,

I stand beside your grave, yet you are here

I miss you terribly and I hope you miss me,

But when I turn to you, your always near

I talk to you as though you lived within me,

Not changed but simply moved in from outside

I know each day you must a little leave me,

But here, as always, you must be my guide

You were, and are, and will be, just as ever,

I’m many minds, and hearts not only mine

No physical event can such love sever,

Death is a dimension, not a line

And so goodbye does not mean you are gone,

So long as I still love you, you live on.

The Never Lost – A poem about finding the strength05.17.08

Reflection is always down to interpretation, and this poem to me stands for all that is great about memories and captions we carry in our heads.

Most moments in time and pigments of our imagination are down to how we perceive them to be.

Looking at your picture your clutching those tiny blue flowers they remind me of you,

Frail, yet blooming with a delicate strength

You, we had seemed invincible,

Just the two of us

Our own private wonder world, our own special love,

Memories crowd inside my head like shadows inside a forgotten attic

But unlike shadows, each one carries it’s own magical light,

You were so confident we could make it

If we can with stand this you said then we can with stand anything,

But now your gone.

Such A Big Heart – A poem about loss05.11.08

This poem has such a special meaning to me, It is so easy to understand how simple it would be to just stop wanting to go on when your consumed with grief.

They had been together for what seemed like forever

And they had something very rare,

Then one day he woke up and she was no longer there

Her death wasn’t painful and she fought all the way,

But they both knew she’d stopped fighting that day

His life ended soon after, and no one knew why,

but I remember that long kiss goodbye

When he turned the look in his eye,

He died of a broken heart which no one can deny.

Through It All, I Have You – A poem about remembrance05.01.08

When you feel your faite is out of your control, you can truly be the most creative person by accepting your own destiny.

Spring, and the land lies fresh green beneath the yellow sun,

we walked the land together, you and I

Never knowing what the future days would bring,

Will you often think of me

When flowers burst fourth each year,

When the earth begins to grow again

So say death is so final,

But my love for you can never die

Just as the sun once warned our hearts,

Let this love touch you some night when I am gone

And loneliness comes,

Before the dawn begins to scatter your dreams away.

Summer, and I never knew a bird could sing so sweet and clear

Until they told me I must leave you for a while,

I never knew the sky could be so deep blue

Until I knew I could not grow old with you,

But better to be loved by you

Than to have lived a million summers, and never known your love,

Together let us, you and I remember the day and nights for eternity.

Fall, and the earth begins to die

And leaves turn golden brown upon the trees,

Remember me too, in autumn, for I will walk with you

As of old, along a sidewalk in evening time,

Though I can not hold you by the hand.

Winter, perhaps someday there may be another fire place, another room

With crackling fire and fragrant smoke,

And turning, suddenly, we will be together

I will hear your laughter and touch your face,

And hold you close to me again

But until then if loneliness should seek you out,

Some winter night when snow is falling down

Remember, though death has come to me, love will never go away.

This Death – A poem about leaving this life04.27.08

A very simple yet effective piece, whilst using a play on words no-one can truly disagree that you do not die alone.

To me, my final breath will be the start of the final chapter in my life, and possibly the happiest day for me.

Life is like a four leafed clover,

Then you die and the pain is all over,

Is destiny sitting and waiting for death,

Everyone I know will miss my final breath.
